Lesson 1B: This 5 Minutes Will Be Your Lifeline to Our Work Together

It’s time to begin the emotional healing! (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go back to the first half of this video for a quick catch-up).

a33864ed72dcf2fbe93ee052f65df727What I’m going to guide you to do here today is with or without the support of a micro-dose of cannabis – totally up to you to experiment with. It’s very individual and if you’re the least bit scared of doing this, do it without cannabis first as the flower will amplify your feelings. See how it goes. If you get a lot of emotions coming up that’s a very good thing – exactly what we want! But your lifeline is the breathe – continue to do it even if, or especially if, you’re triggered.

When you do this Self Care breath each day (I encourage you to do it before the busyness of your day starts) you’ll be strengthening your nervous system. This will build your capacity to move into more challenging breath and body movements with me that will lead to progressive healing of your out-of-control emotion(s).

Remember, I’ve been intimately working with this system and know all the challenging aspects of it. I would not ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do.

I’d suggest that you watch this video through once. And then bookmark it on your computer at 8:50 in, where I actually begin the vigorous “Self Care” breath and talk you through it. This way, whenever you get triggered – and it can happen in a nan-second, eh? – you’ll have this cued up and ready to go. You go somewhere private (your car is a good option), pull up the video and do it. Make sure you take a little time after to sit and feel its effects.

So, for this first time, find a quiet place and settle in and get comfortable. I like to sit cross-legged on a cushion, generally in my PJs before coffee(!).  You just as well can sit up straight in a chair with both your feet planted on the floor. Start by getting peaceful – you can do this with a couple of DEEP breathes and thank yourself for starting this healing work.

P.S. I recommend doing the 5 minute Self Care breath daily before you check your email or texts … depending on what you read, it can throw you into a place of anxiety and upset. Granted, you may be emotional before you even start the breath but let’s not add another layer of yuckiness, ok?
